Hp Laptop No Sound From Speakers Vista

Jun 05, 2011  My HP laptop lost the sound. When I noticed that my GOM player has no sound, I downloaded some free codecs but did not work. I decided to uninstall/reinstall GOM and codecs.

The Built-in Speaker of my computer (Dell OptiPlex 755) is not detected, and NO sounds comes out of it. The sound icon in the task bar seems muted or disabled (red x on the sound icon). When double clicking the sound icon, it says detecting problem then it shows a windows: which of these devices you want to troubleshoot?: * Speakers - High Defenition Audio The connecter for this device is located on the back side of the computer. * Headphones - High Definistion Audio Device The connecter for this device is located on the fron side of the computer. IT DOES NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE BUILT IN SPEAKER. Please HELP the troubke shoot Information (Copied As Is). I found the solution to the problem.And it was more easy than I expected.

Go to HP site.and search for the drivers for the x64 vista pro business version. There is audio driver there. (sp45625.exe) ->WORKS 100% In contrast with the windows 7 page.that they give no sound drivers. Vista x64 DID WORK.and now FINALLY I can hear sound from the internal speakers in the hp compaq dc7800 Solution FOUND for Windows 7.

It took me many hours of searching. Hope this will same some time to others. Hi, i just installed windows 7 on my laptop and it worked perfectly, but then i installed it on my desktop, and i had the same problem as Mesh, my speakers r plugged in, but the computers saying that nothings plugged in. I tried what Mr. Vernon said but to no avail, it still isnt working. Please help Go ahead and put me on the list. I installed the real release version of Win 7 Ultimate and it worked great on laptop then I installed a Professional version on he desktop and I get the same thing.

Says in device manager everything is OK but in the taskbar the audio icon is X'd out and when the troubleshooter runs it says no speakers or headphones plugged in. Not working any ideas? PS I even removed from device manager and restarted it re installed correctly and then said no audio device plugged in. I found the solution to the problem.
