No, the video card is integrated into the mother board. There are ram upgerdes available though.

Thanks for the download link. However after looking at the hardware again I believe the Intel mini pci adapter is wifi and not bluetooth After trying to install sp28427.exe, the bluetooth software could not find a bluetooth device. I'm assuming the mini-pci card is not for bluetooth but an Intel Pro/Wireless 2200Bg (wifi).

My other laptops iirc have two mini PCI slots, where some have additional non pci adapter connections for other devices such as for modems, Cellular, GPS, etc. At home I connect wirelessly through a LAN connected POE to a Nanostation that connects to a Nanostation AP wireless network. However I have Bluetooth devices I use on the road such as a GPS that uses an external antenna. I suppose I can use a USB bluetooth adapter instead. I'll need to take a closer look at the DV1000's mini pci slot, some are able to accept combo cards such as for wifi & bluetooth. Which I believe I may have somewhere in storage.

You're very welcome. If your PC originally came with bluetooth, then it is possible you also need to install the HP Wireless Assistant software, restart the PC and use that software to turn on the BT. This package contains the HP Wireless Assistant for the listed operating systems. The HP Wireless Assistant is a user application that provides a way to control the enablement of individual wireless devices (such as Bluetooth, WLAN, or WWAN devices) and that shows the state of the radios for these wireless devices. You have the best wlan card available at the time for your notebook and you cannot exchange it for any other model not listed in the service manual.

Installing any wlan card not listed in the service manual, will cause the notebook to halt on boot until the unsupported wlan card is removed. There was no such thing as combo wlan/bt cards in those days. If the HP wireless assistant software does not get the BT radio to show up, then either the HP BT module has died on you, or your notebook didn't come with BT. Fujitsu Thermal Printer Fp 410 Drivers. Yes some of the Thinkpads had the same problem, would only accept and boot oem adapters. However there were sometmes work a rounds, where one could run a program or use an rom chip editor to change a couple of bit's in the adapters rom so to allow a non oem adapter boot with the machine.

I think you're correct, my memory isn't what it use to be, the original mini-pci adapters never were produced as dual or combo wireless pci adapters. I thought I had remembered one, but now believe I may be mistaken. I have several pci-e cards that are wireless combos, I tried to get them to work with a laptop with a pci-e slot however if my memory serves me correctly there was a conflict with the motherboards pci drivers or perhaps other OS drivers that prevented the combo card from working. For GPS I use a USB bluetooth dongle, but it hangs out there exposed I was concerned it would break, etc. So attempted to install an internal combo wireless card.

What I'll do is probably find a bluetooth card for the DV1000 (I think I may have already located one) and switch to the wifi card if needed. The spare parts listing from the maintenance service guide shows Bluetooth Wireless Lan = 376651-001 and 376652-001 I found a 376651-001, however it doesn't appear to be a min-pci adapter?

Yes, that looks like the one you need. I don't get why they call it a mini-pci form factor either, because it looks nothing like the wireless card, which is mini PCI. Drivers Hp Psc 2175 Series 6. It looks like the same module that went in my old HP nc8000 business notebook, that didn't have bluetooth either. I ordered the part off eBay and it was a cinch to install. I just had to remove a screw which held a plastic cover and the module fit inside the compartment and the wire plugged into a connector right there. Some notebooks that use the same module have the connector located where you have to take the doggone motherboard out to connect it up to. The dv1000 service manual I posted above only shows how to remove and replace the wlan card (even though it lists the bluetooth in that section as well, so I have no idea where you install the BT module.
